Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour

Course Description

This course is targeted at the Security Industry Sector. Under the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for Security, a licensing condition under the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD), any security over who seeks to progress to the position of Senior Security Officer (SSO) must complete both certificate courses, namely Access Control Management (Operate Basic Security Equipment) SEC-TE M-2001-1.1 and Deterrence (Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behaviour) SEC-ICM-1001-1.1. The intent of the course is to transfer knowledge and skills to security officer so that they can duly handle any incident involving disorderly conduct and threatening behaviour at the premise they are guarding.

Course Objective

Upon the completion of the course, the learner will be able to:
• Demonstrate the ability to prepare for work activities
• Demonstrate the ability to deter threatening behaviour through visible security presence
• Demonstrate the ability to deal with disorderly / threatening behaviour

Entry Requirements

Learners meeting the following criteria are eligible for the course:
• Good Interpersonal Skills
• Learners who have completed the "Incident Response (Handle Security Incidents and Services)" and "Guard and Patrol (Provide Guard and Patrol Services)" courses and attained the Private Industry Security Licence from Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD)
• Learners are able to:
      • Listen and Speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3
      • Read and Write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3
      • Manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the WSQ Employability S kills Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3

Course Duration and Timings:

Full time course – 2days – 18 hrs (8.30am to 6pm)
Assessment by POLWEL – 3rdday (2 hours)
Part time course – 4 days – 18 hrs (6.30 to 10.30pm)
Assessment by POLWEL – 5th day (2 hours)

Certification:

WSQ Statement of Attainment issued by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
